What we do

Bring it in. If it isn’t our job, we’ll tell you whose it is.

We're a family owned business who do jewelry repair, custom jewelry, watch batteries, and buy gold.

Our own words, from our Facebook page

This is my jewelry experience channel where I show what I do for a living. I became part owner of a jewelry store in Tacoma WA, I'm local and love my community! — that’s how Andrew describes the channel where he films the work. Everything below is something you can watch us doing in our own photographs.

An elephant ring we made, set with two small stones, balanced on a mandrel.

One of ours

On the bench, most weeks

Jewelry repair
Broken chains, worn prongs, a stone that fell out at work.
Ring sizing
Up or down, and you get the scrap gold or silver back.
Watch batteries
While you wait, most days.
Custom jewelry
From your drawing or a photo on your phone — carved in wax, cast, set here.
Wax carving, casting and stone setting
The three steps in the sequence below. All of it happens in the back.
Chains and bracelets
Made and mended.
Re-dipping and polishing
White gold that has gone warm, silver that has gone dull.
We buy gold
Bring it in and we'll look at it with you.

How a piece gets made

One ring, carved to boxed, in our own photographs.

Someone brings us a drawing, or a picture on their phone. We carve it in wax, cast it, set the stones, polish it and put it in a box. All of it happens in the back of the shop. These six are the same ring, photographed as we went.

A ring pattern carved by hand out of green jeweller's wax.

Wax, casting, setting, polishing — every step above is a service, and every one of them happens here. We also cast and repair for people who bring us their own gold.

What people said across it

We didn’t write any of this. They did.

Our rating is 4.7 across 138 Google reviews, and this drawer holds one envelope for every one of them. Fifteen carry words we can show you, hand-addressed with a first name and the job — those are the ones below, word for word, spelling and punctuation and all. Pick one and we’ll open it.

In this simple neighborhood shop, lives the amazing skill and artistry of a true craftsman. Andrew has done several repairs and created an amazing custom piece for my wife.

What the drawer adds up to

You get your scrap gold back when we resize. We call you when it's ready. And when it isn't our job, we say so and send you to someone in Tacoma who does it.

138 envelopes · one per Google reviewDrag or tab through the drawer

The other 123 are closed and unlabelled. We don’t hold their words, so we won’t put words in them.

Who’s back there

A father, a son and three people who know what they’re doing.

We're a family owned business. Michael Miller owns the shop, and his son Andrew Miller is his partner in it — the second generation of us behind this counter.

Three employees work with us, including a master jeweler who trained under Mike and Bob. That is the whole shop: there is no call centre and no front desk between you and the person doing the work.

We've always run on word of mouth. You have probably heard our name from a neighbour rather than found it on a screen.

Tell us what you've got

Or write it down and we'll call you back.

Right now the only way to reach us is the phone, Tuesday to Saturday. This is what an intake note would look like on a site of our own.
